Introducing The ‘Bass’ is yet to Come

I started at three and a half years old, catching creek chub in the ditches that ran by the big farm house across the road in Orrington, Maine
where I grew up. From there, I was on to bigger and better ponds, lakes, and rivers. My mother was my first trolling motor. My little red canoe, my
first bass boat. I watched in awe as real bass boats ripped across the lake arriving to their destinations in seconds, as we slowly paddled our way to the closest weedy bank. Before I had the canoe, my mom and I often climbed on the pilings in the Penobscot River for a better casting platform. I didn’t even realize the bronze monsters I was catching were bass, but I did know that they pulled and fought and leapt out of the water. I was hooked just as much as the smallmouth on the end of my line.

After graduating from Brewer, I attended the University of Maine and fished nights and weekends while earning my teaching degree. I was hired
to teach Kindergarten shortly after leaving UMO. I taught and fished simultaneously for awhile, but in 2013 I placed high enough in tournaments
to qualify for the Bassmaster Classic. Though my school district gave me time off for all the tournaments, I couldn’t expect these allowances year
after year. I decided to pursue fishing full time. I’ve fished all over the country since then and met some great anglers and made some lasting
friendships, but my roots are here in Maine. Some of the best bass fishing in the country is right here. I want to share my experiences, my passion
and maybe a few of my secrets from the fishing world with all of you. Just maybe I can give you a laugh, some insight and most of all help you catch more fish!
